AHHA Cambodia Field Trip 2017
Story
Hi!
From August 12th-26th this year, I will be travelling to Cambodia as a volunteer for the AHHA (Australian Health Humanitarian Aid) & Rotary annual field trip. This trip will give me the opportunity to visit remote rural communities in the Phnom Penh region with a team of 120 volunteers and health professionals, where they will perform cataract surgery, eye care, medical and dental treatments on the local people.
With the sense of sight impaired, the lives of these individuals are permanently disrupted; with simple actions being faced as a daily challenge. Living with these physical, emotional and financial ailments not only takes burden on their family, but also their community. Therefore, the purpose of the AHHA field trip is to contribute to the prevention of blindness and impaired vision so to improve the quality of life for these people and make a lasting difference.
In support of this project, I am aiming to fundraise a total of $5000 overall as a donation to the Australian Health Humanitarian Aid. My current goal in regards to the Colour Run is to raise $1500. Every cent makes a difference as your donation will contribute to improving the life of someone in need.
This project holds close to my heart and so I would like to thank you so much for your support!
